The Induction Program for the newly admitted MD/MS postgraduate students was organized at Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, marking the formal beginning of their academic journey in postgraduate medical education.
The program commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge, followed by a warm welcome of the dignitaries and participants.
Dr. (Brig.) Rakesh Gupta, Director, GIMS, in his inaugural address warmly welcomed the newly admitted postgraduate students and emphasized the importance of dedication, discipline, and compassion in the journey of postgraduate medical education. He encouraged the students to actively engage in academic discussions, clinical responsibilities, and research activities throughout their training period.
The Hon’ble Maj. Gen. (Dr.) Amit Devgan, VSM (Retd.) Chief Guest, in the keynote address, congratulated the students on entering an important phase of their medical careers and spoke about the growing responsibilities of future specialists in the evolving healthcare landscape. The address focused on the importance of continuous learning, patient-centered care, professional ethics, and teamwork in achieving excellence in medical practice. The Chief Guest motivated the students to remain committed to lifelong learning and meaningful service to society.
Dr. Rambha Pathak, Dean Academics, addressed the gathering by presenting the annual academic performance report of the institution for the previous year. The report highlighted excellent university examination results, notable academic achievements of undergraduate and postgraduate students, research publications in indexed journals, and faculty participation in national and international conferences.
The ceremony concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Saurabh Srivastava, CMS, GIMS who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, organizers, and participants for making the event successful.
