Teachers’ Day Celebrated with Grandeur at St. Joseph School, Sector Alpha-1

Greater Noida, September 5, 2026:
Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour at St. Joseph School, Sector Alpha-1, on Saturday, September 5, 2026, to commemorate the birth anniversary of the eminent philosopher, scholar, and former President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp before the portrait of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by Principal Father Gipson Pallaty, Manager Father Andrew Coria, Sister Preema, Sister Vijaya, Senior School Coordinator (Classes IX–XII) Mr. Saji K. J., and representatives of the teaching fraternity, Mr. Chandrakant Mahtha and Mrs. Vidyodita Philip.

The celebration began with the soulful rendition of the sacred Sanskrit verse, “Gurur Brahma, Gurur Vishnu, Gurur Devo Maheshwarah,” by the students, filling the school campus with an atmosphere of reverence and gratitude towards teachers.

The students then presented a series of colourful and engaging cultural performances centred around the cherished bond between teachers and students. The performances beautifully reflected values such as trust, dedication, mutual respect, goodwill, and the transfer of knowledge and skills from one generation to another. The presentations also expressed the students’ aspiration to become worthy disciples who fulfil their teachers’ dreams and expectations. The ideal of a teacher who selflessly imparts knowledge, like Guru Parashurama, and the desire to have teachers with the wisdom and vision of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan even in the present era were vividly portrayed.

The programme was briefly interrupted by rainfall. However, owing to the timely and adequate arrangements made under the guidance of Principal Father Gipson Pallaty, the students were safely moved to a covered area, and the programme resumed after a short interruption.

At the conclusion of the programme, the Principal extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all the teachers on Teachers’ Day. In his message, he emphasised the responsibility and privilege of being a teacher, stating that teachers earn respect because they see their own reflection and that of their own children in every student and therefore remain deeply committed to their mental, emotional and social development.

He further urged teachers to remain committed to their noble profession and not get distracted by feelings of resentment, the pursuit of wealth, or the race for material recognition. He stressed the importance of remembering one’s responsibilities and preserving the bond of trust between teachers, students and parents.

Addressing the students and especially the parents, the Principal said that if they have entrusted their most precious asset—their children—to teachers, they must ensure that the pillar of trust between the school and parents remains strong.

The Manager, Father Andrew Coria, also extended his warm Teachers’ Day greetings to everyone and encouraged the teachers to continue striving to earn a respected and meaningful place in society through their dedication to the teaching profession.

The celebration concluded with a renewed commitment to uphold the dignity of the teaching profession and strengthen the timeless bond between Guru and Shishya.
